I worked on the co-dev team at Lost Boys Interactive for Remnant 2 from October 2023 to January 2024. Our team was tasked with updating and rebuilding one of the areas from Remnant 1 and matching Remnant 2's aesthetic. I built this modular railing kit for the Buried City area of the Rhom map update. I collaborated with the art lead and art director to match the style, and aesthetic of Remnant 2 while retaining the same asset footprint from Remnant 1's kit. Remnant 2 used a material layer system in Unreal. The texture work consisted of creating masks in the RGBA space that were then utilized in engine. We then used pbr tiling materials that used the masks to create the high fidelity surfaces with consistent rust, wear and tear, and copious amounts of dust given the buried city atmosphere.
